Originating in France as the Fête de la Musique in 1982, Make Music Day occurs on June 21st every year all over the globe. Over 1,000 cities across the world will gather to celebrate the joys of music through performances, activities, and parades. Sun Prairie is proud to be joining in on the summer solstice fun in 2023.
Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music Day is open to anyone who wants to take part. Every kind of musician — young and old, amateur and professional, of every musical persuasion — pours onto streets, parks, plazas, and porches to share their music with friends, neighbors, and strangers. All activities are free and open to the public.
