The M.A.D. Arts project offers youth weekly after-school opportunities to explore Music, Art, and Drama. The project is grounded in a belief that the arts foster creativity and connection as well as enhance academics and social skills. The following goals form the foundation of the project:
- To provide innovative and enriching artistic experiences
- To create a learning environment that emphasizes self-expression and collaboration
- To offer accessible opportunities that celebrate diversity
The project is guided through a partnership between Prairie Music & Arts, the Sun Prairie Community Schools, and Boys and Girls Club of Dane County. These partnerships serve a vital role in spreading reach to youth who might otherwise not have access to after-school arts enrichment.
This project has been supported in part by grants from the Dane County Arts & Cultural Affairs, Green Bay Packer Foundation, the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts, The American Girl Fund for Children in cooperation with the Madison Community Foundation, and The Cap Times Kids Fund.
