The GO-CART project is a community arts and recreation trailer offering enriching activities throughout the parks of Sun Prairie. It is based on the belief that children should have access to enrichment activities that support emotional and physical wellness. Programs GO directly to kids with no-cost year-round activities.
Prairie Music & Arts leads the arts-based activities, which include music-making, arts and crafts, theater improvisation, and creative writing. Activities are led by a team of teaching artists as well as guest artists from the local area.
The project is co-created by Prairie Music & Arts and the Sun Prairie Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department and is partially supported by the City of Sun Prairie and through a generous donation from the Sun Prairie Education Foundation and its designated funds established by Larry Coulthart and the Lee Buske/Sun Prairie Exchange Club, in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Cap Times Kids Fund and Greywolf Foundation.
We’re looking forward to programs starting again in January 2025! Check back for more details.
