The GO-CART project is a community arts and recreation trailer offering enriching activities throughout the parks of Sun Prairie. It is based on the belief that children should have access to enrichment activities that support emotional and physical wellness. Programs GO directly to kids with year-round activities.
The project is co-created by Prairie Music & Arts and the Sun Prairie Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department and is partially supported by the City of Sun Prairie and through a generous donation from the Sun Prairie Education Foundation and its designated funds established by Larry Coulthart and the Lee Buske/Sun Prairie Exchange Club, in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts, the Cap Times Kids Fund, Greywolf Foundation, and Steve Stricker Foundation.
Prairie Music & Arts leads the arts-based activities, which include music-making, arts and crafts, theater improvisation, and creative writing. Activities are led by a team of teaching artists as well as guest artists from the local area. Sun Prairie Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department leads active play experiences such as lawn games, sports, STEM building activities, and more.
Contributions help offset the cost of purchasing arts and crafts supplies, musical instruments, and equipment, so we can keep the arts GOING!
thank you to our GO-CART Partner and generous Arts sponsors!
