Max Saron

Sun Prairie Creates Dance Teaching Artist

Growing up in a family of football and baseball players, Max Saron’s family never expected him to get into dance. After discovering the dancer Nonstop on YouTube and an obsession with the Xbox game Dance Central, he started teaching himself how to dance. He had always felt a deep connection to music, and watching someone embody that feeling and let it out through their body excited him to no end. His parents noticed his effort and threw him into his first dance class at age 10. He lucked out with his dance teacher, Malachi Durant, who noticed and fed his passion, giving him private lessons and writing notes with names like Ian Eastwood, Brian Puspos, and Keone and Mari to look up online, exposing him to the wider dance community and creative people pushing choreography.  This gave him a vision of what dance could be at a very early age. Now, he shares his love for dance, music, creativity, and art weekly at his home base, Barrio Urban Dance Studio, where he teaches classes.  Max’s style combines choreography, hip-hop, and original movement based on vibes and musicality. Fun Fact: Star Wars is his jam! In addition to his dance activities, Max is a University of Wisconsin-Madison student and First Wave scholar.
