The Melodic and Expressive Handpan with Isthmus Instruments

Explore the history, craftsmanship, and fundamentals of playing the handpan, a modern melodic percussion instrument known for its immersive and expressive sound. Led by Isthmus Instruments, a women-owned instrument engineering company in Madison, this beginner-friendly workshop will offer an introduction to playing techniques, touch, rhythm, and sound creation, a live performance by the Isthmus Instruments team, and an interactive Q&A and hands-on opportunity for participants to try playing the instruments themselves.
