Growing up in a single parent household, there was little money to encourage my deep passion for music.  However, thanks to a violin teacher in the community who provided me with a free violin, a patient ear, and hours of her time, I was able to explore my deep connection to music.  I am certain the connection to music my violin teacher provided gave me hundreds of gifts beyond just playing a violin.  It gave me camaraderie, confidence, focus, and the joy of self-expression.  By joining the Prairie Music & Arts Board, I hope to use these gifts given to me to aid PMA’s focus on youth development and their non-profit mission to provide high quality music and art education for all socio-economic backgrounds.
