Dr. Marni Bekkedal

Marni joined the Executive Board of Directors in 2020 as part of a natural progression in her involvement with Prairie Music and Arts. Prior to that, she served on the organization’s first Parent Advisory Board offering insight from a decade worth of her children’s participation in the many music, drama, and art programs offered at PMA . As a neuroscientist, Marni studied the effects of music on the brain as part of her graduate work, and is a firm believer in the importance of the arts for strong brain development and maintenance, emotional health at all ages, and as a way to share talents and bring joy to others.
