Job Description:

Prairie Music & Arts in Sun Prairie is seeking creative teaching artists to join our team for the 2023-2024 School-year. Weekly program openings include elementary general music, visual arts, theater, ukulele, and hip-hop elements such as music production, songwriting, dance, graffiti/mural art, and spoken word; additional cultural artists are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

Qualified applicants will demonstrate a commitment to youth development, strong communication skills, professional responsibility, a belief in diversity, equity, inclusion and collaboration, and artistic mastery.

We recognize that education is only one piece of an educator’s background and that real-world experience plays a large role in developing a teaching artist. Artists with classroom management experience but who do not have a college degree in their discipline are still encouraged to apply.

Prairie Music & Arts is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate the vibrancy of diversity, the value of different points of view, and the power of collaborating with people from all walks of life; we welcome a melting pot of ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, and physical abilities; and we strive for artistically varied programming that celebrates diverse cultural backgrounds.

A transportation stipend is not included, and access to reliable transportation is required.

Schedule:

Most programs take place immediately after-school between 3:00 – 5:00 pm M-Th. Later weeknights, Fridays, and weekends may be required for special events.

Compensation:

$20-25 hourly, plus $15 hourly prep time; wage is commensurate with experience.
